Nikita Bier is stepping down as X’s head of product.
He isn't leaving the company completely. He will stay on as an advisor, but he is stepping away from managing day-to-day operations.
People on the app had mixed reactions to the news. Lots of creators were celebrating. Bier was very strict with content rules, and his changes got many users removed from the payout program. For people who lost their income, his exit felt like a win.
Others praised his work. During his time in charge, he focused on fighting spam bots and cutting down on low-quality posts that flood people's feeds.
Bier explained his decision on X, writing: “X is, and will remain, the most important communication technology in history. But running this app is a 24/7 job and it’s now time for me to take a breather.”
X has not announced who will replace him yet.
