Welcome to the Garage
After being sent to Tokyo to live with his father to avoid jail time in the US, Sean Boswell is introduced to the underground world of drift racing. His classmate, Twinkie, brings him to a hidden multi-story parking garage where the "meet" takes place. Here, Sean discovers that in Japan, it’s not about how fast you go in a straight line, but how well you handle the curves through "drifting."

Sean Boswell - The American outsider who loves fast cars but doesn't know anything about Japanese culture or drifting. （ショーン・ボズウェル）：速い車をこよなく愛するアメリカ人のアウトサイダー。日本の文化やドリフトについては何も知らない。
Twinkie - A fast-talking American expat who "hustles" (sells) goods and knows everyone in the car scene. （トゥインキー）：早口でまくしたてるアメリカ人留学生・在住者。様々なモノを「ハッスル（商売）」しており、現地のカーシーンの全員と顔見知り。

Takashi (DK) - The "Drift King" and nephew of a Yakuza boss. He is highly protective of his status and his girlfriend. （タカシ / DK）：「ドリフトキング」の異名を持ち、ヤクザの組長の甥でもある。自分の地位と恋人に対して非常に独占欲・縄張り意識が強い。

Twinkie: "Welcome to the real Tokyo! You ain't in the school slippers anymore, baby."

「エンジン（車）のことなら、それなりに詳しいんでね。」 Neela: "Are those school slippers? You're a long way from the classroom, *gaijin*."
「それって学校の上履き？ 教室からはずいぶんと遠いところまで来ちゃったね、外人さん。」 Scene 3: The Confrontation
Takashi: "What are you talking to her for? Do you know who I am?"
「何でお前がアイツと話してんだ？ 俺が誰だか分かってんのか？」 Sean: "I’m guessing the Justin Timberlake of Japan? ... What does *gaijin* mean exactly?"
「日本のジャスティン・ティンバーレイク（ただの気取ったアイドル）ってとこか？…ところで、『ガイジン』って正確にはどういう意味だ？」 Twinkie: "Sean, let’s go. This guy is DK—Drift King. His uncle is Yakuza."
「ショーン、行くぞ。この人はDK（ドリフトキング）だ。叔父さんはヤクザなんだよ。」 Takashi: "You want to race? With what? Your skateboard?"
「レースしたいのか？ 何で乗ってやるんだ？ お前のスケートボードか？」 Han: "He can use mine. I wanna see what the kid can do."

Useful Phrases
"Long way from..." 〜からはるばる遠く離れて / 本来の場所とは大違い
A phrase used to say that someone is in a completely different environment, culture, or tougher situation than they are used to.
Example: After moving to the countryside, she felt she was a long way from the Tokyo neon lights.
"Blow your wad" （スラング）持っている金を一度に使い果たす
An informal slang expression meaning to spend all your money or exhaust all your available resources in a single go.
Example: He blew his entire wad on that vintage sports car and now can't afford gas.
"Know my way around..." 〜の扱い（場所・分野）に慣れている、詳しい
To have a lot of experience, practical skill, or knowledge about a specific object, machine, or topic.
Example: Don't worry about the plumbing; I know my way around a wrench.
